Education Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; technical coursework, machining certification, or related college training preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and GD&T requirements.
- Strong understanding of machining principles, manufacturing processes, and CNC programming concepts.
- 1-3 years of hands-on experience in CNC machining, CNC programming, Swiss machining, or precision manufacturing.
- Experience creating, editing, and optimizing CNC machine programs using G-Code and M-Code.
- Experience setting up tooling, machine parameters, and production processes for prototype and production parts.
- Previous experience working in a cGMP, ISO-regulated, medical device, or precision manufacturing environment preferred.
- Proficiency with Solid Works or similar CAD software.
- Experience with Citizen CNC Swiss Screw Machines preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, tooling selection, machining methods, and process optimization.
- Ability to troubleshoot machining issues and improve cycle times, tool life, and product quality.
- Experience training machine operators and setup personnel on new processes.
- Strong project management, communication, and continuous improvement skills.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, bend, kneel, crouch, and perform detailed machining tasks throughout the shift.
- Frequently lift and carry up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to perform close visual inspections and read technical documentation.
- Comfortable working in a climate-controlled manufacturing environment with moderate industrial noise levels.
- Develop, validate, and optimize CNC programs, tooling layouts, and machining processes for prototype and production components.
- Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to support prototype development and successful production launches.
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and part designs to determine machining methods, tooling requirements, and production sequences.
- Improve manufacturing efficiency by reducing cycle times, minimizing variability, enhancing tool life, and reducing secondary operations.
- Create setup documentation, machining instructions, and process control documentation to support production.
- Train machinists and setup technicians on new or improved machining processes and best practices.
- Troubleshoot machining issues, support daily production needs, and implement corrective actions when required.
- Conduct process audits and continuous improvement activities to enhance quality, productivity, and operational performance while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
