With continued growth and expansion into the US market, we’re seeking a Store Manager for the launch of our first Showroom Retail Store in Carlsbad, CA.

The Store Manager for Joie Children’s Products Inc. oversees overall store performance, ensuring effective operations, achieving key results, and delivering exceptional customer service. The role manages the hiring, development, and motivation of team members while fostering a supportive culture and premium customer experience. The Store Manager drives team performance, upholds operational standards, and strengthens customer relationships by building brand trust, enhancing product knowledge, and delivering service excellence.

As the strategic leader of the store, the Store Manager is accountable for daily operations, sales performance, and operational excellence. The role maintains brand standards, develops a high-performing team, and promotes a positive work environment. Through strong leadership and sound decision-making, the Store Manager ensures the store meets business goals and delivers a premium retail experience for customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership

  • Foster a positive, welcoming team environment that supports productivity and engagement.
  • Collaborate with cross-store partners and the Regional Manager to drive strategy and execution.
  • Plan and implement store strategy, assess performance, close gaps, and develop community engagement plans using KPI insights.
  • Lead team engagement by modeling company values and connecting individual contributions to store and brand success.
  • Prioritize and assign tasks effectively, leveraging team strengths while maintaining adaptability.

People Management

  • Oversee hiring, recruitment, selection, and onboarding to build a strong, high-performing team.
  • Address employee concerns promptly, partnering with HR or the Regional Manager when needed.
  • Lead performance management through regular feedback, recognition, documentation, and issue resolution.
  • Foster an inclusive, respectful environment through open communication and supportive relationships.
  • Manage and oversee workforce planning by forecasting staffing needs related to turnover.
  • Ensure compliance with scheduling and payroll policies while adhering to labor laws.
  • Build and review schedules aligned with labor requirements, team availability, and budget goals.
  • Strengthen engagement and performance through recognition, gap analysis, coaching, and documented development plans.
  • Provide ongoing feedback, coaching, and mentoring to support individual and team growth.
  • Ensure completion of all required training and champion knowledge sharing to enhance team expertise.

Operations

  • Develop and execute sales strategies, including planning, budgeting, labor management, and hiring oversight.
  • Drive results by leading directly from the sales floor to support the business, the team, and the customer experience.
  • Manage full P&L performance to achieve sales, budget, and profitability targets.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, laws, and regulations.
  • Monitor financial performance through daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual periods to inform decisions.
  • Execute product launches and company initiatives efficiently and on time.
  • Maintain operational continuity by proactively managing disruptions.

Customer Experience

  • Lead exceptional customer experiences by modeling strong connections and technical skills and coaching to close gaps.
  • Resolve guest feedback and escalations while protecting the brand and overall experience.
  • Address concerns professionally, actively listening and escalating when necessary.

Product

  • Ensure products are stored safely, accurately tracked, and readily accessible for smooth store operations.
  • Drive campaigns, product launches, and promotional initiatives by ensuring timely execution and alignment with brand standards.
