Location: Carlsbad, CA

Salary: $90,000 - $100,000 DOE + Quarterly Gross Profit Bonus Potential (10-15%) + Benefits

Schedule: Hybrid; 3 days onsite / 2 days remote after training period

Description

Our client in the international shipping and freight forwarding and logistics industry is looking for a Business Development Representative to add to their team. Reporting to the President, you will be responsible for developing new business opportunities while growing and supporting existing customer accounts within the container export freight market. This role is well‑suited for candidates who thrive in fast‑paced sales environments, are highly responsive and relationship‑driven, and enjoy operating independently while collaborating with internal logistics and documentation teams.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an established international logistics company with a collaborative culture, strong internal support resources, operational flexibility, and significant earning potential tied directly to performance.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and grow new business opportunities within the container export freight market
  • Manage and expand relationships with existing customer accounts
  • Negotiate pricing, service agreements, and transportation solutions with clients
  • Monitor market conditions, pricing trends, and competitor activity
  • Collaborate internally to support customer needs and issue resolution
  • Maintain responsive communication and long‑term relationships with customers
  • Meet or exceed quarterly sales and gross profit performance goals
  • Use internal systems and reporting tools to manage pipeline activity
Qualifications
  • 3+ years sales experience in international logistics required
  • Strong knowledge of the container export freight markets required
  • Proven ability to develop new business opportunities and grow existing accounts required
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales and gross profit targets required
  • Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment required
