Shipping & Distribution Associate Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Shipping & Distribution Associate to support our finished goods handling and distribution operations. This position is responsible for accurately fulfilling customer orders, preparing and verifying shipments, maintaining shipping documentation, and processing orders through the company’s ERP and carrier systems. The ideal candidate has distribution or warehouse experience, strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Fulfill retail and distributor orders accurately and efficiently.
- Pick, pack, weigh, label, and prepare shipments for delivery.
- Prepare, maintain, and organize shipping records and documentation.
- Coordinate product shipments with third-party carriers.
- Process and post shipping charges as required.
- Verify shipment contents, quantities, labels, and documentation for accuracy.
- Maintain adequate inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Inspect and stock finished goods to ensure products are properly tagged and prepared for shipment.
- Perform basic cycle counts and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe shipping and receiving areas, including sweeping, dusting, and general housekeeping.
- Process orders using the company ERP system and carrier software.
- Perform other duties, special projects, and assignments as required by management.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of distribution, shipping, or warehouse experience.
- Previous experience in medical device manufacturing, distribution, or quality control preferred.
- Forklift certification, if applicable to the position.
- Experience with Fed Ex Ship Manager and UPS World Ship preferred.
- Familiarity with international shipping and trade documentation, including commercial invoices and certificates of origin.
- Understanding of work orders, inventory records, shipping documents, and receiving documentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and legible documentation.
- Strong attendance and reliability, with the ability to report to work as scheduled.
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods throughout the work shift. Ability to work in a warehouse and shipping/receiving environment. Ability to perform routine shipping, stocking, inventory, and housekeeping activities. Ability to safely handle and move products and shipping materials as required.
