Salary: $18.18 – $20.46 per hour DOE
Position OverviewUnder direct supervision of the Director of Adult Education, the Student Support Assistant addresses barriers that prevent students from receiving the full benefit of their educational experience by providing case management, referrals, and direct and indirect services. This position is a cross‑trained position that will provide all stakeholders of the Workforce Department with one‑stop quality service, by sharing accurate information and knowledge in broad areas of courses, trainings, events, and community resources.
Responsibilities include coordinating training inquiries, maintaining accurate records, assisting with class logistics, and supporting overall department operations.

- Greet and assist visitors, directing them appropriately.
- Assist with registration, student success orientation, pre‑ and post‑testing, and student goal setting.
- Submit student referrals to community partners, assist students with goal setting, and conduct follow‑up surveys.
- Assist students with online services and processes.
- Implement a communication plan for contacting students via phone, email, and text.
- Familiarize self with community resources, individual tutoring services, and employment resources and talk regularly with students about these resources.
- Complete and maintain appropriate student registration, attendance, and assessment records, and ensure timely submission.
- Utilize ongoing assessment and counsel students about their progress.
- Develop a plan of educational support designed to achieve academic progress and retention for each student.
- Maintain professional and academic competencies and participate in professional development activities.
- Assist with campus and departmental events.
- Enter data into departmental forms and databases, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Operate standard office equipment, including copiers, computers, and phones.
- Draft, type, and format routine letters, reports, labels, and other documents from rough drafts or templates.
- Answer inquiries concerning the status of information requests; comply with policies concerning the various records maintained.
- Prepare or assist with the preparation of statistical and narrative reports.
- Requisition s supplies, printing, maintenance, and other services.
- Performs miscellaneous job‑related duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.
