Required
Current, verifiable Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification in good standing;
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution; with a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of professional project management experience, including leading cross-functional teams; advanced knowledge of predictive, agile, and hybrid project management methodologies; and the ability to effectively communicate complex project management concepts to individuals with varying levels of experience. Preferred qualifications include prior experience teaching adult learners in corporate training or higher education settings;
familiarity with PMI Authorized Training Partner (ATP) materials and curriculum; and experience utilizing Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Canvas or Blackboard.
Any equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience approved by the Human Resources Department may be considered.

Purpose and ScopeSoutheast New Mexico College (SENMC) is seeking applicants for a Temporary Project Management Professional (PMP) Instructor to support its Workforce Development and Community Education Department. This temporary position is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction that prepares adult learners, professionals, and community members for the Project Management Institute (PMI) PMP® certification.
The instructor will provide practical, industry-aligned instruction in project management principles, methodologies, tools, and techniques. This includes supporting student success through exam preparation, applied learning activities, practice assessments, and individualized guidance designed to strengthen student readiness and improve PMP certification examination success rates. Instruction will emphasize real-world application of project management frameworks, including predictive, agile, and hybrid methodologies, to enhance workforce skills, support career advancement, and meet regional employer needs.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Deliver project management instruction aligned with current Project Management Institute (PMI) standards, including concepts outlined in the PMBOK® Guide and PMP Examination Content Outline.
- Provide instruction on project management principles, processes, tools, and techniques including predictive, agile, and hybrid approaches.
- Prepare students for the PMP certification examination through lectures, discussions, practice exams, case studies, and applied learning activities.
- Guide students through PMP exam preparation strategies, application processes, and certification requirements.
- Develop and enhance course materials by incorporating real-world case studies, industry examples, project management templates, group exercises, and practical learning activities that support student engagement and application of project management concepts.
- Assess student understanding and progress through assignments, discussions, assessments, and practice examinations.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to support student success and learning outcomes.
