Full-Time | Carlsbad, NM | NM Teaching Certification About the Role Lead a special education classroom serving students with diverse learning needs. You'll develop and implement IEPs, manage classroom behavior using PBIS, supervise paraprofessionals, and collaborate with families and staff to support each student's academic and social growth. This role combines instructional leadership with hands-on teaching in a supportive, mission-driven environment.

What You'll DoReviewing and providing feedback on IEPs, goals, accommodations, modifications, and progress monitoring practices.

Supporting special education teachers with instructional planning and specially designed instruction.

Providing coaching and technical assistance regarding IDEA requirements and IEP implementation.

Assisting with transition planning and compliance-related documentation.

Supporting new and developing special education teachers through mentoring and consultation.

Delivering virtual professional development and training.

Collaborating with district coordinators and administrators to identify and address areas of need.

Assisting in the development of systems and practices that improve implementation fidelity and student outcomes.

What We're Looking For

Required:

Strong knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and implementation.

Experience supporting teachers and special education programs across multiple campuses.

Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Experience providing coaching, consultation, and professional development.

Know and understand how to facilitate MDRsNew Mexico Department of Education Teaching Certificate Bachelor's degree

Preferred:

Master’s in special education2–5 years working with students with learning and/or social-emotional needs

Experience implementing curriculum and behavior interventions

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

Proficiency with IEP documentation systems (e.g., IEP pro)
