This position will be a part of the MPLX and G&P Safety Team. It will be responsible for safety oversight on multiple oil and gas gathering pipeline segments and any construction or maintenance activities tied to these assets. The role requires some overnight travel to support other parts of the business, and will lead or assist with development and implementation of safety programs and processes, including standard development, training, and field implementation.

• Provides technical support of routine operations, project work, major maintenance or construction support, and emergency response to ensure worker safety throughout the planning and execution phases of work.
• Supports development, maintenance, and execution of safety programs for implementation in the field to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and MPC corporate standards.
• Conducts auditing on safety programs to verify compliance with regulatory and MPC standards, and analyzes safety performance data to identify trends and propose recommendations.
• Leads investigations for near‑misses, incidents, and injuries to identify root causes and recommend preventative actions, tracking implementation to completion.
• Develops and presents training material on a variety of safety topics in collaboration with Operations and Learning Development departments.
• Provides subject‑matter expertise for assigned programs, including input as a competent person for fall protection and excavation safety, support during Life Critical work, and other regulatory programs.
• Develops safety‑related communications for shift starter meetings, safety meetings, notices, and bulletins.

• High School diploma or GED required with 2 years of relevant experience, or Bachelor’s degree in a HES related field with no relevant experience.
• Driver's License Required.
