About the Permian
Straddling West Texas and Southeastern New Mexico over an area roughly the size of Kansas, the Permian is the most prolific oil and gas basin in America and the engine behind the country's energy renaissance. Nationally, it provides about 40% of oil and 15% of gas production and plays a critical role in making the U.S. a leading energy exporter.
A key asset for Exxon Mobil, the Basin accounts for about 40% of the Corporation's net oil and gas production in the U.S. in 2021, with significant future growth potential. Production reached more than 550,000 barrels per day in 2022 and is expected to surpass 800,000 barrels per day by 2027. Many of these molecules travel down to Exxon Mobil's facilities along the Gulf of Mexico, where they are transformed into high-value finished products such as jet fuel and lubricants.
The Permian Basin business unit also has the distinction of being the first at Exxon Mobil to unveil and execute a plan for net zero Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions in operated assets by 2030, as part of the Corporation's broader 2050 net zero ambition.

What role you will play in our team
The Environmental Coordinator will support Exxon Mobil's Unconventional business in New Mexico by completing environmental and regulatory analyses, developing, maintaining, and enhancing environmental and regulatory compliance systems, and ensuring compliance with internal and external environmental and regulatory reporting requirements. The position will keep up-to-date with assigned regulations and support Exxon Mobil Advocacy and Compliance staff to drive reasonable rule making and interpretations.

This role will be based in Carlsbad, NM.
What you will do
* Provide environmental compliance support to New Mexico Unconventional operations, including analysis of environmental regulations and applicability determinations
* Support the review of physical and operational changes to ensure compliance with assigned regulations, utilizing existing best practices or implementing new best practices
* Complete internal and external reporting obligations for assigned reports/requirements.
* Support compliance assurance processes for assigned programs (e.g. Air Emissions Inventory, Title V, NSPS, GHG, TRI, SPCC, Spill Reporting) including, Regulatory Analysis, Regulatory Interpretations and Guidance and Compliance Support Tools (e.g. checklists, workshops, manuals, databases)
* Manage agency enforcement actions as necessary using available SSHE and Law resources
* Coordinate internal Corporate Environmental Reporting
