Seeking an experienced Lab Technician in Carlsbad, NM.

Lab Technician Details:

• Temp-to-Hire position
• $ 29.62 / hour
• Full Time work available
• Various shifts available (Monday through Friday from 06:00am to 06:00pm)

• Familiar with where and when to collect samples.
• Corrects preparation of samples.
• Uses analytical methods available for each sample.
• Reports results of analyses to Lab Supervisor.
• Familiar with non-routine sample preparation as well as correct sample log-in procedures.
• Insures proper instrument care and maintenance.
• Proficient in one major instrument (XRD, TOC and PSA).
• Demonstrates proficiency in alternate wet methods and flame photometry.
• Completes daily sample reports.

Lab Technician

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED. Valid Driver's License.
• Intermediate computer skills, including, but not limited to:
  Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, etc.
• Must be able to work 12-hour shifts, rotating day and night.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, and write simple correspondence.
• Ability to add and subtract numbers and multiply and divide.
• Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to work outdoors in a non-temperature controlled environment, and indoors, in a temperature-controlled environment.
• Employees are required to wear safety attire and personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to climb stairs and/or ladders, work at heights, perceive color differences.
