Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a night shift Emergency Department position at a Level 3 Trauma facility in Carlsbad, NM, requiring ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications and 2+ years of ED experience.
Responsibilities- Emergency Department at a Level 3 Trauma facility
- Night shift schedule: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
- 13-week contract
- Patient ratio of 4:1
- Floating required
- On-call requirement: must be reachable a minimum of 2 hours prior to shift start
- EMR:
Med Host (EDIS) - Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department using the nursing process in accordance with the NM Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies
- Responsibilities include thorough patient assessments, medication administration and monitoring, and detailed documentation of patient care
- Demonstrates critical thinking and clinical leadership in planning and delivering safe ED patient care
- Delegates patient care priorities based on staff education and experience; provides direction and supervision to assigned personnel
- Fingerprinting is required for all travelers working in New Mexico; this process can take several weeks
- Scrubs: no specific color requirement — full uniform required
- RTO is limited to 1 request per 6-week schedule; requests must be for less than one week
- RTO blackout periods apply for 1 summer and 1 winter holiday, dependent on department needs
- Blocked scheduling is not approved
- Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any CHS facility within the past 2 years are not eligible for this position
- Active NM or Compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC
- ENPC and NRP preferred
- Minimum 2+ years of recent Emergency Department RN experience
- No certification may expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Valid driver's license required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
