Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule
Nights, 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM; floating required.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse is accountable for providing care to Emergency Room patients by utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and Hospital policy and procedures. This role requires critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership in anticipating and planning for the safe delivery of care in the Emergency Department.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate findings effectively.
- Administer medications and monitor for side effects.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documenting patient care.
- Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education.
- Delegate patient care priorities in accordance with the education and experience of available staff.
- Provide direction and supervision to assigned personnel delivering patient care.
- 2+ years of experience in Emergency Nursing required.
- Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC certifications required.
- NRP certification preferred.
- Fingerprinting for all New Mexico travelers is required.
