Required Qualifications
- Minimum of an associate’s degree in nursing or be an Allied Health Professional (including but not limited to registered nurses, pharmacists, dieticians, social workers, nursing home administrators, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech language pathologists), licensed and in good standing. Have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in associated field.
- Current New Mexico License, or a compact state license, or eligibility to obtain a New Mexico license to practice as an Allied Health Professional.
- Must maintain licensure throughout employment.
- Minimum of one (1) year of long‑term care (LTC) experience and experience teaching adults or training nurse aides.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers certification.
- Successful experience in teaching at the college level or providing student clinical instruction is preferred.
- Experience working with ethnically diverse and rural student populations, including working with underprepared students. Demonstrates an appreciation for and understanding of the unique needs of the student in both academic and vocational disciplines in the health and medical fields.

General InformationSoutheast New Mexico College (SENMC), located in Carlsbad, New Mexico, is a public community college accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. The college offers associate degree and certificate programs in allied health and related fields.

Duties and Responsibilities- Under the supervision of the Allied Health Department Chair or designated Nursing Assistant (NA) faculty mentor, serve as a part‑time, as‑needed, clinical instructor for Nursing Assistant students in long‑term care, skilled nursing, or hospital settings.
- Provide clinical supervision, including oversight of student skills, performance evaluation, and professional conduct.
- Fulfill all duties required of clinical NA faculty, including potential evening and weekend assignments, based on program needs.
- Provide clinical instruction and supervision at off‑site locations, including the Artesia clinical site, as assigned.
- Ability to accomplish organization objectives by organizing and monitoring work processes.
- Strong leadership skills, including the ability to coordinate and collaborate with multiple stakeholder groups (employers, community colleges, government agencies, non‑profit organizations, and community groups).
- Excellent communication skills with strong attention to follow up, follow through, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and without supervision.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to foster a team‑oriented work environment.
- Ability and willingness to travel to the Artesia site as part of regular job duties.
