Duties & Responsibilities

Emergency Room registered nurses provide care to patients with a range of illnesses or traumas requiring emergency attention. They must recognize and effectively treat life‑threatening conditions.

  • Assess, intervene, and stabilize a variety of trauma and illnesses with decisive action.
  • Maintain knowledge of general and specific health issues relevant to urgent treatment.
  • Understand and apply triage to prioritize injuries based on medical need.
  • Make quick and accurate assessments of incoming patients, including physical and mental health conditions.
