Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery

Carlsbad, New Mexico

Contract | 13 Weeks | Days, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM | Onsite | Floating Required

• Provide nursing care across the full scope of LDRP, including antepartum triage, active labor, postpartum (mother and baby), special care nursery, and general nursery
• Utilize the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and facility policies to deliver safe, evidence-based obstetrical care during antepartum, intrapartum, immediate postpartum, and neonatal phases
• Demonstrate critical thinking and clinical judgment in anticipating and planning for safe patient delivery and care
• Delegate patient care priorities based on the education and experience of available staff, and provide direction and supervision to assigned personnel
• Maintain clinical competencies through ongoing continuing education
• Float to other areas of the unit as required based on patient volume and acuity

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Current ACLS certification required
• Current BLS certification required
• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• Current S.T.A.B.L.E. certification required

• Experience with Med Host (inpatient), GE Centricity (OB), or Athena (clinic) EMR systems
• Comfort working in a small unit environment with variable patient volume and acuity, including 1:1 to 1:4 patient ratios

• No call required, offering a predictable schedule throughout the duration of the assignment
