Armed Security Officer

Chenega’s Strategic Security Business Unit (SSBU) is seeking dedicated Armed Security Officers who take pride in protecting critical personnel, facilities, and operations in high‑visibility, high‑responsibility environments. This role is ideal for security professionals who value integrity, vigilance, and service—and who want to be part of a team that supports national security objectives.

This position is on‑site in Artesia, NM.

• Provide armed protective services for personnel, assets, and facilities in accordance with federal, contract, and SSBU security requirements.
• Control access points, screen personnel and vehicles, and conduct patrols to detect and deter threats.
• Respond swiftly and effectively to security incidents, alarms, and emergency situations.
• Enforce laws, regulations, and site‑specific policies with professionalism and discretion.
• Maintain accurate logs, incident reports, and required documentation.
• Operate as part of a disciplined team while remaining alert, calm, and decisive in dynamic environments.

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Preferred:
  Any combination of two years of experience in physical security (armed or unarmed) and service with the United States Armed Services (including Reserves or National Guard), or associate’s degree in a Security or Law Enforcement related field, or successful completion of a police officer’s basic training academy.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.

• Proficiency in a variety of computer software applications – word processing, spreadsheets, database, and Outlook (MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
