The Fiber Optic Aerial Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment to support aerial fiber construction and maintenance activities. This role requires safe and efficient operation of digger-derricks, pressure diggers, skid-steers, mini-excavators, and related utility equipment. A strong focus on safety, precision, and teamwork is essential.
Key Responsibilities- Operate digger-derricks safely and efficiently.
- Operate skid-steers to support aerial fiber construction tasks.
- Operate mini-excavators as required for project needs.
- Support aerial fiber construction and maintenance operations.
- Set and remove poles, anchors, and overhead attachments.
- Assist linemen and groundmen with material handling and jobsite setup.
- Adhere to all company safety standards and jobsite protocols.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on assigned equipment.
- Operate bucket trucks when needed.
- Valid Class A CDL required.
- Experience operating bucket trucks, digger-derricks, and heavy equipment.
- Knowledge of utility or fiber construction environments.
- Strong safety record and situational awareness.
- Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug testing.
- Willingness to travel based on project requirements.
- Electrical distribution experience is a plus but not required.
