Summary

The Field Service Technician, AMS is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing natural gas compression equipment. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality. The position works closely with external customers and internal team members to ensure all equipment functions efficiently and safely.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and perform job activities in accordance with Kodiak’s procedures, goals, and objectives.
  • Troubleshoot complex repairs and major equipment overhauls.
  • Build and maintain customer relationships.
  • Diagnose all levels of compressor system failures.
  • Optimize compression equipment performance.
  • Complete required reports and actions per area operating procedures and policies.
  • Analyze job parts and supply inventory to communicate effectively with Supply Chain and ensure adequate parts for job performance.
  • Prioritize repair work amid competing demands.
  • Assess repair/replacement needs and identify the best solution.
  • Perform consistent inspections and maintenance of units to proactively ensure unit health.
Education & Certifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical or vocational training in mechanical, electrical, or related field preferred.
Work Experience
  • 3+ years of compressor maintenance or related industry experience required.
  • Caterpillar G3600/G3500 Natural Gas Engine experience preferred.
Skills & Abilities
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Demands

Requires operating heavy equipment, standing up to 75% of the time, climbing ladders or stairs, intermittent lifting of >50lbs, working in high noise environments (>85dBA), potential controlled exposure to hazardous chemicals, outdoor conditions including extreme heat and cold, extended or non-traditional hours, and frequent use of computer and office equipment.
