Senior Social Worker - Children & Families (Children with Disabilities) (working authority wide), based from Aurora House, Clydebank.

This post is fixed term until 31/03/2027.

A vacancy has arisen for a Senior Social Worker within West Dunbartonshire HSCP Children & Families Team (Children with Disabilities).

West Dunbartonshire is an area with high levels of poverty and deprivation; parental substance misuse, poor mental health and high levels of domestic abuse are key areas of concern.

The successful candidate will manage a team of social workers and a range of support staff.

You will be involved in the coordination and management of service delivery for children with disabilities and complex health needs and their families within the framework of relevant legislation, council policy and departmental procedures.

This post is considered a Regulated Role with Adults and Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2020 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found here.

Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
