Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Edge Band Operator to join our Production team in Carlstadt, NJ.
The Edge Band Operator will be responsible for setting up and operating the edge banding machine to apply edge banding to wood doors while ensuring finished parts meet company quality and dimensional standards.
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience operating an edge banding machine and a strong background in door or cabinet manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate the edge banding machine for door production.
- Load materials and select the correct edge band tape/material for each job.
- Adjust machine settings, including speed, glue temperature, and trimming, for different materials and thicknesses.
- Inspect finished edges for glue lines, chipping, gaps, proper adhesion, and accurate trimming.
- Perform routine machine cleaning, minor maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Stage and safely move completed parts to the next production station.
- Read and follow basic cut lists, production tickets, and work orders.
- Report material shortages, machine issues, and quality concerns to the Production Supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety and quality standards.
- Minimum 3 years of experience operating an edge banding machine.
- Door or cabinet manufacturing experience required.
- Ability to read and understand basic cut lists, tickets, and work orders.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to bend, reach, and use hands and arms repetitively.
- Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of a manufacturing environment.
