Overview
The Accounting Coordinator – Quality Assurance is responsible for reconciling accounting figures and financial records. This is accomplished through analyzing and reconciling all transactions made in multiple company accounts, such as debit, credit, and other related transactions. In addition, the Accounting Coordinator – Quality Assurance is also responsible for initiating and coordinating data collection and creating reports to assist leadership in making data driven decisions.
The role requires the ability to meet deadlines, identify and report errors, and a high level of attention to detail.
- Account Reconciliation (60%):
Analyze and reconcile account information - Oversee and verify that all charges in debit, credit, cash, or other payment methods are reconciled on a regular basis
- Research transaction discrepancies and work with leadership to seek a resolution
- Quality Control:
Perform Audits, Assessments, and Reviews (20%):
Audit internal team data - Data Collection & Manipulation - Research potential causes of increased claims or decline in premium
- Data Mining – Analyze the data to make an informed decision
- Ensures compliance with established internal control procedures by examining records, reports, operating practices, and documentation
- Assemble Results, Implement Change, and Monitor (10%):
Prepare and analyze reports in support of the escrow accounting management team - Recommend and coordinate with leadership to implement corrective measures
- Create and Maintain Procedures (10%):
Identify, validate, create, and format current and new procedures utilized within Escrow Accounting to ensure they meet departmental needs and support system functionality - Recommend improvements to internal processes to Escrow Accounting Management
- Additional tasks as assigned
- High School Diploma required
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or other related discipline preferred
- 3-4 years of directly related work experience required
- Communication– Effective listening and use of clear, concise, and effective verbal and written communication. The ability to compose written material as well as effectively present to employees, management, and clients
Ability to convey thoughts in a focused and concrete manner - Critical Thinking– Advanced problem-solving skills. Ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems. Ability to handle confidential information. Adaptable to change and makes independent decisions. Handle multiple projects and deadlines and remains effective under pressure. Strong understanding of the department and organizations goals and objectives.
- Detail Oriented - A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is essential.
- Teamwork - Team oriented and skilled in working within a collaborative environment. Professional interaction with employees and peers. Assist in expanding the abilities and knowledge of other Quality Assurance Analyst.
- Organization - Ability to self-prioritize, assign, and organize workflow. Ability to multi-task to maximize efficiency and results. Meet service level expectations.
- Computer Skills – Highly proficient in basic Microsoft Excel operations with a solid knowledge base of other Microsoft Office products.
