Position Overview
As a Reliability Coordinator – NERC Certified System Operator (NCSO), you will help MISO conduct continuous analysis based on changing data and models, and make adjustments to mitigate potential risks to MISO and our stakeholders. The role is part of the Reliability Coordination function, working to resolve transmission congestion and maintain the reliable 24x7 operation of the interconnection. In short, you will help maintain the integrity of the Bulk Electric System and provide input on process improvement initiatives.
ResponsibilitiesYou will help maintain the safe, reliable operation of the Bulk Electric System, resolve transmission congestion, conduct continuous analysis based on changing data and models, and act promptly and decisively in response to complex and unplanned situations.
Qualifications- A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Business, or other related field OR at least 4 years of relevant work experience.
- Demonstrated successful completion of the Oral Board and Simulation Certification for their assigned functional desk following on‑job training, or successful post‑hire completion of the same.
- A current NERC/RC certification or ability to obtain NERC certification following on‑job training prior to operating the assigned functional desk.
- At least four years of work experience in one of the following areas: electrical engineering, generation system dispatch, transmission system operations, merchant operations, generation operational planning, or power accounting.
The base salary range for this role is $ – $ USD annually. The position is also eligible for an annual bonus if individual performance and company objectives are met. MISO offers a comprehensive benefits package, including 401(k), vacation, sick and safe time available from day one.
