Architectural Designer

Overview

The Architectural Designer (the “Designer”) will produce compelling architectural plans that represent the best in innovative home design. This role requires an individual with exceptional client communication, sales acumen, creative design, and elevated professionalism in all forms of communication, among sales, clients and construction teams.

The Architectural Designer shall work collaboratively to ensure that the Company continues to create communities that flourish, while supporting the foundational principles of pursuing outstanding locations and timeless designs. The Designer shall maintain the integrity of the Old Town brand in all aspects of their position while contributing to the values of gratitude, ownership, perseverance, adaptability, and innovation.

• 1) Translate client needs and budgets into buildable, innovative residential designs
• 2) Introduce innovative design concepts and practices that elevate the Old Town brand
• 3) Maintain a clear understanding of Old Town’s cost structures and their impact on
• 4) Partner with Sales to deliver an exceptional client experience through clear communication, ensuring satisfaction with both the process and the final product

• Conduct onsite walks for pre-sale discussions and design alignment
• Lead client design meetings to understand preferences, needs, budgets and site constraints
• Develop designs that are customized accordingly
• Create plans in response to market demands that promote home sales
• Produce architectural drawings that meet all zoning requirements, building codes, HOA, and ARB guidelines and the Old Town brand guidelines

• Engage collaboratively with Director of Drafting and Design to receive feedback and enhance outcomes
• Initiate and coordinate feedback from Sales, Estimating, Purchasing, Construction and Interior Design to ensure alignment on designs and provide clear construction documentation
• Manage design revisions to meet the deadlines agreed upon by both internal departments and clients
• Work closely with all New Home Consultants to ensure client satisfaction with the overall design process
• Propose community-distinct architectural standards that are both representative of the Old Town brand and context sensitive to specific design circumstances
• Keep current with new products, design styles (particularly luxury), materials, construction methods and energy-efficient innovations for forward thinking design
• Promote updates to existing models and product lines in a timely manner
• Other duties as assigned

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Architectural Design, or related field preferred
• 5+ years of experience in design and sales, preferably with custom home building
• Proven experience working directly with luxury, residential clients
• Proficiency with the following software and applications: preferred Revit and CAD
• High level of creativity combined with strong business acumen and results orientation
• Experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders
