Instructional Designer II
As part of MISO’s highly talented Technical Development Team, you will support the growth of employees and stakeholders by creating learning experiences that build technical expertise and agility. You will partner closely with subject matter experts and leaders to meet the evolving needs of the organization.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead project intake, analysis, design, development, and maintenance of training content, applying best practices in learning and development.
- Provide support for the LMS Administrator, assist with facilitation of instructor‑led sessions, and/or support simulation‑based training.
- Develop e‑learning modules, support instructor‑led training, and create learning solutions based on customer needs.
Success will be measured by:
- Designing highly interactive content that supports organizational outcomes.
- Building strong partnerships among subject matter experts across Operations.
- Demonstrating a basic understanding of MISO’s business and how the team drives value.
- Exemplifying MISO core values.
- At least a Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Technology, or related field.
- At least six years of related instructional design work experience.
- Proficiency with Articulate Storyline 360, Rise 360, Camtasia, and Adobe Creative Suite (portfolio required).
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work effectively with virtual conferencing platforms (Webex, Teams).
- Ability to develop and maintain instructional materials including multimedia, simulations, and e‑learning.
- Ability to manage project plans, timelines, and documentation.
- Previous experience in a setting with high compliance requirements (energy, utilities, healthcare, aviation, etc.).
- Experience with Co‑pilot and AI add‑on for Articulate 360.
The base salary compensation range for this role is $79,000.00 – $ USD annually, in accordance with state/local pay transparency legislation. Salaries may vary based on location, competencies, education, and experience. The position is also eligible for an annual bonus if performance and company objectives are met. MISO offers a comprehensive benefits package, including 401(k), vacation, sick and safe time, available on your first day of employment.
