Instruction includes phonics, reading, writing, vocabulary, math, science, study skills, executive functioning skills, and preparation for exams such as the ACT, SAT, PSAT, and various state and high school entrance tests. Huntington Learning Center is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
This part-time, on-site Learning Center Teacher role is based in the Greater Indianapolis area. The Learning Center Teacher provides individualized instruction to K–12 students in subjects such as reading, writing, math, study skills, and test preparation. Daily responsibilities include reviewing student assessment results, planning and delivering tailored lessons, monitoring progress, and documenting instructional outcomes. The teacher collaborates with center leadership and colleagues to maintain a supportive learning environment and may communicate with families about student goals and achievements.
The role also involves following Huntington’s instructional methods and maintaining center policies and procedures.
- Strong foundation in Education and Teaching, with experience supporting K–12 learners in one-on-one or small-group settings.
- Ability to design and adapt Lesson Planning to meet diverse academic needs and learning styles.
- Excellent Communication skills for interacting with students, families, and colleagues in a professional and respectful manner.
- Background in Training or tutoring, with the ability to implement structured instructional programs and methodologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; teaching certification or licensure is required.
- Experience with standardized test preparation (e.g., ACT, SAT, PSAT) is beneficial.
- Strong organizational skills, reliability, and the ability to maintain accurate student records.
