Job SummaryWorks on a variety of control system projects. Leads individual project tasks and/or large‑scale projects in their entirety. Provides engineering support on projects/tasks that are led by others. Assumes ultimate responsibility for the assigned projects/tasks. Takes direction and seeks guidance from assigned project leads, supervisors, and company leadership.
Education And Experience- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field combined with relevant technical experience.
- Typically 4+ years total experience.
- 2+ years as Lead Control Systems Engineer or equivalent.
- Completely self‑sufficient in the field.
- Lead and assist with start‑up and commissioning of control systems.
- Lead and perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
- Read and interpret piping & instrumentation diagrams and wiring diagrams; provide feedback regarding field conditions versus drawings.
- Work with Human‑Machine Interface (HMI) and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) applications.
- Understand the company’s Quality Management System (QMS).
- Review standard documents for technical, grammatical, and aesthetic content.
- Own complex control system design and instrumentation specifications.
- Understand IT systems, network infrastructure, and computer system design as it relates to control system integration.
- Communicate effectively, positively, and proactively with customers.
- Follow customer‑specific site standards and procedures.
- Conduct business in a professional manner.
- Provide excellent customer care and support.
- Be patient, attentive, and responsive when solving customer problems.
- Follow up and honor commitments with customers.
- Understand customer needs and actively service those needs.
- Complete assigned tasks accurately, on schedule, and under budget.
- Understand project scope, identify out‑of‑scope issues, and communicate them to the project lead.
- Lead individual project tasks or small to mid‑sized projects in their entirety.
- Serve as the customer’s primary contact for projects the employee leads.
- Communicate positively and proactively with customers and trade partners.
- Anticipate potential issues and plan solutions proactively.
- Seek opportunities for new work with customers and contractors.
- Deliver detailed feedback on project and task assignments.
- Understand project contracts and specifications.
- Identify and manage risks.
- Direct and oversee junior or subordinate staff on construction, operations, and/or maintenance tasks at a project site, where applicable.
