Job Summary
We are seeking a seasoned Engineer to lead a discipline section in our Indianapolis office. This role focuses on design, development, and delivery of projects while managing scope, budget, and quality control.
Responsibilities- Develop, monitor, and manage the section’s operating budget.
- Oversee the growth and professional development of discipline‑specific engineering staff.
- Coordinate section activities, establish priorities, and assign staff to projects.
- Collaborate with other sections and departments for work‑sharing opportunities.
- Support implementation of the firm’s strategic planning and sales processes.
- Assist with contracting and project delivery processes, including scope, work plan, and fee reviews.
- Maintain client contacts and ensure client satisfaction.
- Recruit, hire, develop, and retain section staff.
- Manage assigned project activities: scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
- Lead a team of 5 to 10+ employees, providing technical discipline tasks and research, reports, design, specifications, and plan preparation.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 8 years of practical experience, including 2 years of leadership experience.
- 12 years of practical experience.
- 4 years of supervisory experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
- Experience with environmental stormwater permitting.
- Hydrologic and hydraulic design experience.
- Post‑construction stormwater BMP design.
