Senior Reliability Coordinator – NERC Certified System Operator (NCSO)

Position:
Senior Reliability Coordinator – NERC Certified System Operator (NCSO). This role supports MISO’s Reliability Coordination function by conducting continuous analysis, adjusting models, and mitigating potential risks to the Bulk Electric System. The incumbent will solve transmission congestion issues and operate safely on a 24x7 basis while contributing to process improvement initiatives.

Success will be measured by demonstrating situational awareness, independent judgment, critical thinking, and decisive action in complex and unplanned situations.

• Analyze changing data and models to identify and mitigate risks to the grid.
• Resolve transmission congestion and maintain reliable operation of the interconnection on a 24x7 basis.
• Operate the assigned functional desk and act promptly to safeguard the Bulk Electric System.
• Provide input on process improvement initiatives.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Business, or related field, or 4+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Successful completion of the Oral Board and Simulation Certification for the assigned functional desk, either during training or post-hire.
• Current NERC/RC Certification, or the ability to obtain it prior to operating the desk.
• At least five years of experience in electrical engineering, generation system dispatch, transmission system operations, merchant operations, generation operational planning, or power accounting.
• Appropriate level determined based on experience and knowledge.

• Base salary range $138,000 – $148,000 USD annually (state and local pay transparency).
• Eligible for an annual bonus based on performance and company objectives.
