The company seeks an experienced Assistant Corporate Controller to manage financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance for its corporate and property management operations.

Location: Carmel, IN

Type: Full Time

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for property management operations; ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Process monthly draw payment applications for each MBA construction project.
  • Oversee and manage the general ledger, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and adjustments.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Controller, Sr. Director of Property Management, and Director of Marketing to develop and monitor budgets and forecasts.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial policies.
  • Coordinate and support internal and external audits; prepare documentation and respond to auditor inquiries.
  • Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support decision‑making; analyze property performance and identify improvement areas.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations affecting property management, construction, and financial reporting.
  • Work closely with all teams to address financial issues and streamline processes.
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives, such as system upgrades and financial system implementations; assist subsidiary companies as needed.
  • Maintain a positive and upbeat attitude.
Industry Knowledge and Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in property management or real estate accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and property management systems such as Real Page or Procore; proficiency in Quick Books.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills; ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills; ability to handle multiple tasks and meet firm deadlines.
