CNO Financial Group's 40|86 Advisors is hiring a Director, Investment Finance to lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting activities, partnering with executive leadership to drive strategic outcomes across 40|86 Advisors and related entities. This role ensures a strong internal control environment by collaborating with internal and external auditors, overseeing assurance processes, supporting accounting guidance adoption, and managing monthly and quarterly close activities.
Additionally, the Director, Investment Finance develops high-quality executive and board-level materials, contributes to enterprise reporting frameworks, and leads and develops a high-performing team while managing key vendor relationships.
Core responsibilities and deliverables:
- Leading financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting activities across the organization
- Overseeing performance reporting and key business metrics to support decision-making.
- Ensuring a strong internal control and audit environment through coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
- Managing financial operations, including close processes and vendor oversight.
- Developing and delivering executive and board-level reporting and presentations.
- Contributing to enterprise reporting initiatives and strategic projects.
- Leading, developing, and managing a high-performing team.
What you need (Minimum requirements):
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 10 years related experience, including 5 years of managerial experience.
- The ability to collaborate and clearly communicate across departments and functions.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and be able to deliver under deadlines.
- Advanced experience with Excel

- Previous exposure to Hyperion, Essbase and Tableau preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of identifying opportunities and driving effective solutions.

- Proven ability to interpret executive priorities and translate strategic direction into meaningful actions for the Investment Finance team.

This role is affiliated to the Carmel, IN corporate office, and candidates for this role need to reside within a 60-mile radius of that corporate office and will be required to come into that office. You may be asked to travel to other corporate offices periodically. Please be aware that work cannot be performed from outside of the United States.
The stated pay range is based on a national-average location. Actual salary is determined by factors including relevant work experience, skills and location. This position is also eligible for CNO's performance-based annual bonus program.
