Portfolio Manager

Merchants Bank of Indiana seeks a Portfolio Manager, Business Lending to manage and grow a portfolio of commercial clients. In this relationship-driven role, you will underwrite and structure business loans, analyze financial statements and cash flow, and monitor portfolio performance and credit quality. You'll collaborate closely with relationship managers, credit, and operations teams to ensure accurate documentation, timely closings, and adherence to bank and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow a portfolio of business lending relationships for Merchants Bank of Indiana
• Analyze financial statements, cash flow, and collateral to underwrite and structure commercial credit facilities
• Monitor portfolio performance, identify risk trends, and take proactive actions to mitigate credit risk
• Partner with relationship managers to deliver tailored lending solutions and exceptional client service
• Prepare credit memos, recommendations, and renewals in line with bank policies and regulatory standards
• Collaborate with credit, operations, and compliance teams to ensure accurate documentation and timely loan closing
• Support community-focused business development activities and represent the bank at local events
• Contribute to process improvements and share market insights with leadership to support strategic growth
