The People (HR) Business Partner position is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in our organization. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization.

At First Databank (FDB), we are looking for a collaborative and strategic People Business Partner to align our business objectives with our most valuable asset: our people. In this role, you will act as a consultant to management, formulating partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added services that reflect our organizational goals.

You will work across the entire HR "stack"—from high-level strategy and organizational diagnosis to the essential tactical and operational details that keep our team thriving.

*** Note that this is a hybrid role working out of the Carmel, Indiana office.***

Key Accountabilities

Employee Relations: Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues by conducting thorough and objective investigations.

Performance & Development: Provide day-to-day guidance on performance management, including coaching, career development, and succession planning.

HR Programs: Participate in the development and execution of programs related to recruiting, retention, compensation, benefits, and Learning & Development.

Compliance & Risk: Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements to reduce risks and ensure regulatory compliance, partnering with the legal department as necessary.

Leave Administration: Manage the administration of FMLA, ADA, Work'er's Compensation, and other leave processes.

Data-Driven Solutions: Analyze trends and metrics to develop innovative solutions, programs, and policies.

Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 6 years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues.

Expertise: Working knowledge of multiple HR disciplines, including organizational diagnosis, diversity, compensation practices, and employment laws.

Certification: PHR or SHRM-CP credential preferred (or the ability to obtain certification within one year of hire).

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and present effectively at all levels of the organization.

Problem Solving: Demonstrated analytical thinking and the ability to navigate ambiguity to find innovative solutions.

Technical

Skills:

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

AI Proficiency: Strong understanding of AI applications in HR, including automated recruiting tools, predictive analytics, and AI-driven engagement platforms.

Travel and other requirements

Travel: Occasional travel (less than 10%).

Mobility: This role involves frequent sitting, standing, and walking, with the ability to lift up to 30 lbs occasionally.
