Cox Automotive is looking for a talented Senior Release Train Engineer (RTE) to join their team. The Senior RTE is an outcomes‑driven problem solver responsible for leading large and complex Agile Release Trains (ART) to success by navigating the complexity of delivering software solutions consistently across large and distinct environments. The Senior RTE must creatively resolve and elevate a wide range of impediments, manage risk, assure value delivery, and drive program‑level continuous improvement.
They serve as a critical link between multiple scrum teams, facilitating communications, opening the flow of information, and sharing important progress updates to ensure all teams involved in the ART are focused on successful delivery. The Senior RTE is accountable for the overall coordination, execution and delivery of value through the program while ensuring alignment with company strategy, commitments and goals.
You’ll Do
- Oversee release trains of strategic importance with complex scope and inter‑dependencies.
- Facilitate ceremonies and work management for the Release Train Team and its delivery teams.
- Coordinate release planning and communication with stakeholders during feature definition and delivery.
- Actively manage the backlog and maintain ALM tool data integrity to support accurate reporting, including metrics and KPIs.
- Coordinate major feature releases and ongoing delivery of value to customers across multiple teams, release trains, or solution groups.
- Resolve and report a wide range of issues, managing dependencies and risks across the ART, inter‑ARTs and delivery teams.
- Leverage agile delivery metrics and regular Agile ceremonies to identify and drive continuous improvement, maximizing organizational performance and backlog execution.
- Participate regularly in the RTE and Scrum Master Community of Practice to align, learn new techniques, and improve technical and quality practices.
- Collaborate with the RTE and Scrum Master community to improve coordination and collaboration across ARTs and solution groups.
- Apply Agile principles and methodology solutions with a pragmatic, stakeholder‑management approach.

Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 4 years of experience in a related field (or a comparable combination such as a master’s degree and 2 years of experience, a Ph.D. and 1 year, or 8 years in a related field).
- 3+ years of experience as a Release Train Engineer.
- Experience applying Lean Thinking and Systems Thinking in large organizations.
- Prior experience as a Scrum Master, Product Owner, or Agile Project/Program Manager.
- Strong technical aptitude and experience leading teams in delivering quality software.
- Experience using ALM tools (e.g., Rally or similar).
- Relevant Agile certifications.
- Experience leveraging and interpreting agile metrics.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate large planning and solutioning sessions.
- Understanding of Agile at scale philosophies and methodologies.
- Experience with Organizational Change Management practices.
- Experience working in an Agile organization using Scrum, XP, Kanban, or Agile at scale practices.
USD 99,000.00 – per year. The base salary may vary within the anticipated range based on location, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The position may be eligible for additional compensation including an incentive program.
