Join our innovative Predictive Analytics team as a Principal Data Scientist. In this senior role you will shape and execute our Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) strategy, drive the development and deployment of cutting‑edge models, influence strategic initiatives, and mentor junior team members. You will collaborate with senior stakeholders to identify complex business problems and implement advanced statistical techniques to deliver business outcomes.

Roles & Responsibilities- Lead development and execution of AI/ML strategy.
- Develop, deploy, monitor, and maintain predictive models using Python, focusing on AI and machine learning techniques.
- Apply large language model expertise to develop innovative natural‑language processing and text‑analysis solutions.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify business problems and create data‑driven solutions.
- Work closely with data engineering teams to design and implement data pipelines and architectures.
- Conduct predictive analytics analysis and modeling with general guidance on complex projects.
- Prepare and present predictive analytics results and topics to customers (internal & external) and management.
- Address loosely defined problems requiring creative approaches and generate actionable insights that increase customer satisfaction, policy growth, retention, and profitability.
- Perform data preparation, identify anomalies, and provide required adjustments.
- Detect data and operational issues needing specialized analytics attention, data scrubbing, and modeling techniques.
- Document and communicate assumptions, results, and alternatives to team members and internal customers; communicate with regulators when required for rate filings or modeling practices.
- Create and maintain modeling best practices and new techniques in coordination with internal and external business partners.
- Explain advanced analytic and modeling procedures in accessible language for audiences without predictive analytics training.
- Schedule and prioritize workload demands; maintain organization skills and complete peer reviews.
- Maintain strong interpersonal skills, construct business relationships, and effectively communicate in writing and presentation.
- Expert‑level proficiency in Python (Num Py, pandas, scikit‑learn).
- Experience with other languages, including R.
- Deep understanding of AI and machine learning concepts (supervised, unsupervised, deep learning, NLP).
- Experience with Databricks or similar big‑data platforms.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.
- Agile team experience (Scrum or Kanban).
- Commitment to testing, validation, and continuous model improvement.
- Experience with MLflow (model management, versioning, deployment).
- Lead modeling projects and statistical analyses.
- Effectively communicate results to business partners and influence decisions.
- Participate in best‑practice discussions and propose new techniques.
- Assist in managing projects and direct junior team members.
- Six (6) or more years of predictive analytics experience in insurance or eight (8+) years in another industry.
- Master’s degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related double‑major combination (Statistics/Math & Economics, Mathematics & Computer Science, etc.).
