Remote About the Role
Allegion's Global UX Services Team is seeking a Lead UX Designer to drive the design direction for Digital Order Management's Hollow Metal product team and its most significant user journeys. You'll lead end-to-end design and research, be trusted to solve our highest-stakes design problems, guide the team through ambiguity, and ensure solutions are user-centered and strategically aligned. Our designers collaborate daily with product managers, software engineers, researchers, customer success professionals, marketing, business leaders, and others to design, and deliver software solutions that create value to our customers and their businesses.
This role will join a broader Research and Software Solutions team, who daily seek to scale fast, drive momentum, and delight users.
We’re looking for candidates with a growth mindset who have a proven track record of leading complex, cross-functional initiatives, driving product discovery and an evidence based vision, and cite real-world examples of how their design and research leadership led to successful product outcomes. Above all, we seek exceptional practitioners and communicators who understand that building world-class software is a team sport.
We are open to US-based remote employees, but are especially interested in candidates local to the Denver or Indianapolis metro areas. Some travel (up to 1–3 times per quarter) may be required.
What You’ll DoOwn the experience strategy and end-to-end design and research for all Hollow Metal efforts. Lead complex initiatives spanning multiple features, workflows, and product experiences within Hollow Metal and beyond, and make sure every decision ladders up to product objectives and business goals.
Craft and drive a forward-looking product vision, leveraging generative research to inform the roadmap; own a recurring opportunity backlog, surfacing scalable opportunities, validating concepts, and sharing outcomes with partners.
Own the measurable impact of your work: define and track design and experience KPIs that drive outcomes and inform prioritization and roadmaps.
Keep experiences evidence informed. Plan, run, and synthesize research across generative, formative, and summative methods (contextual inquiry, interviews, usability testing, card sorting, heuristic evaluations, etc.) and translate findings into actionable insights and prioritized recommendations.
Build strong partnerships and drive consensus across diverse stakeholder groups. Facilitate decision-making, promote collaboration, and partner continually with product, engineering, and delivery leadership to ensure feasibility and the highest quality experiences are delivered to our users.
Define, validate, and maintain the information architecture and design standards that guide your team's work.
Extend the design system into reusable assets and processes that raise consistency across your product team.
