Schedule:

Monday-Friday 3:30pm – 12:00am. First day: 2:30pm.

The Injection Molding Operator is responsible for operating polyurethane injection molding machines to produce quality molded products. This position involves monitoring equipment, following production procedures, inspecting finished products, and assisting with the maintenance and upkeep of molding equipment and tooling.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment, following safety and quality standards, and performing hands-on tasks to support efficient molding operations.

Job Duties:

• Responsible for operating and tending polyurethane casting machines to mold or cast plastic parts or products.
• Must maintain all required safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
• Coats die with parting agent, according to work order specifications.
• Positions and secures assembled mold and mold components.
• Activates machine to inject dies and compress compounds to form and cure specified products.
• Removes cured product from mold.
• Cuts off excess material.
• Measures and visually inspects products for surface and dimension defects, using precision measuring instruments, to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Verify prescribed temperatures and time settings to mold materials and meet specifications.
• Completes inspection, inventory, production, and traceability documentation for all parts made or scrapped.
• Observes and maintains machine set up and operations to eliminate production of defective parts and products.

Education Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Technical training or manufacturing education is beneficial.

Experience Requirements:

• Experience operating manufacturing or production equipment.
• Ability to read work instructions, production schedules, and basic technical documentation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to monitor equipment for proper operation.
• Ability to perform quality inspections and maintain production standards.
• Commitment to workplace safety, attention to detail, and dependable attendance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous machine operation, manufacturing, production, or industrial experience is preferred.
• Experience performing machine setup, tooling changes, troubleshooting, or preventative maintenance is beneficial.
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, quality systems, or continuous improvement practices is considered an asset.
• Individuals who demonstrate mechanical ability, reliability, teamwork, and a commitment to quality are well positioned for success as a Machine Operator.
• Must be able to read operating standards as well as track and write daily production reports.
• Must have an acceptable attendance record.
• Must be able to work overtime work as requested.

Physical Capabilities:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive production tasks throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift materials, components, or finished products weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to safely operate manufacturing equipment while maintaining awareness of moving machinery.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and work safely in a manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to stand on a continuous basis as well as Lift, bend, twist, and reach on a repeated basis.
• Must be able to lift 35lbs occasionally.
