Purpose of the Role
The primary responsibility of the Adult Ministry Director is to lead people in their next step of involvement at the campus. This role will champion the value of involvement by implementing new visitor strategies, leading the process to engage attenders in volunteer teams and overseeing the small groups ministry at the campus.
Connection Request Follow-up – Follow up on all connection requests and help people get connected into ministry and serving opportunities. Ensure that the database is up to date and the next steps are identified.
Grow and care for small groups – Identify and raise up new group leaders. Train and equip group leaders so they are skilled, equipped and competent to lead groups. Meet metrics/dashboard goals for group engagement at your campus.
Ministry
- Valor/ Abide and Marriage– Execute playbooks for these events and ministry at your campus. Identify and equip leaders to own these ministry opportunities.
Serving Teams – Recruit, connect, and encourage people at your campus to put feet to their faith and serve inside the church, in the community
- Local Missions, and around the world
- Global Missions.
Campus Responsibilities – Weekend responsibilities- meeting with attenders and guests to help them with assimilation. Being part of the campus team and helping with events and projects. Ordained Clergy
- Weddings, Funerals, Pastoral Guidance, Communion, and Baptisms.
Implement Northview’s Assimilation Strategy at the campus level
Develop lay leaders and teams to lead a variety of adult ministries
Focus on increasing the percentage of people participating in campus groups and discipleship
Focus on recruitment, onboarding, training, ongoing coaching, communication and care for leaders involved in each of the above ministries
Recruit and oversee a Ministry Associate for a variety of adult ministries
Ensure that the Discipleship Walk has a strong presence at the campus
Encourage each campus ministry team to be effective in recruitment, onboarding, training, ongoing coaching, communication and care for their ministry teams
Collaborate and assists Guest Experience Team.
Attend central Adult Ministry meetings and contribute to overall vision and strategy for campus Adult ministry.
Use The Rock as the primary database tool for groups and teams
Officiate weddings and funerals as needed, if ordained
Provide pastoral care, counseling and guidance as needed, if ordained
Network with other churches for ideas and community
Assist in baptisms or service hosting at the campus as needed
Attend scheduled staff meetings and monthly all-staff Huddle
Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position supervises the Carmel Adult Ministry Coordinator, works with volunteers, and must have an understanding that volunteers are key to the ministry of the church.
The employee must have a heart to recruit, train, equip and support volunteers in fulfilling their roles.

Minimum Qualifications
3–5+ years of experience leading volunteers in a large church, specifically in adult ministry including assimilation, small groups, and volunteer development.
Must have proven experience in the ability to lead and shepherd groups and teams.
Galvanizing teams
Ability to work independently and manage multiple initiatives
Passion for the lost and the ability to present the Gospel clearly and concisely
Strong apologetic skills with thorough knowledge of Scripture
Strong, biblical knowledge in how to respond to a variety of counseling situations
