Job Summary:A prestigious Level III Obstetric facility, is seeking a high-caliber L&D RN for a Long-Term Assignment. This unit manages a high volume of approximately 200 deliveries per month. You will be joining a specialized team that handles everything from routine births to high-risk pregnancies, providing comprehensive care across labor, delivery, recovery, and operative suites.
Key Responsibilities- Intrapartum Care: Provide direct nursing care through all stages of labor, including continuous fetal monitoring and pain management (epidural assistance).
- High-Risk Management: Utilize Level III expertise to manage complex maternal-fetal conditions and assist in the ATP (Antepartum) rooms.
- Operative Support: Scrub or circulate for cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures in the unit's 2 dedicated OR suites.
- Triage & Assessment: Manage patient flow and acuity in the 3-room triage area, identifying urgent clinical needs rapidly.
- Care Coordination: Act as the primary coordinator for all disciplines, ensuring seamless transitions from admission through discharge planning.
- Experience: Previous acute care experience in Labor and Delivery is required.
- Licensure: Active Indiana State RN License or Multi-State Compact License.
- Certifications:
- BLS (AHA) – Required.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – Required.
- ACLS (AHA) – Preferred.
- Clinical Skills: Proficiency in electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) and circulating for C-sections.
- Unit Layout: 8 L&D Rooms, 3 Triage Rooms, 2 OR Suites, and 4 ATP (Antepartum) Rooms.
- Volume: ~200 deliveries/month.
- Staffing: 36 hours/week;
Rotating holidays and every third weekend requirement. - On-Call: There is an on-call requirement for this position.
