Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg travel position specializing in surgical subspecialties including urology, gynecology, and bariatric surgery, with a minimum of 2 years of experience required.
Responsibilities- 31-bed Med/Surg unit with a concentration in general surgery, urology, gynecology, and bariatric surgery
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Floating required within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
- Local candidates are not accepted for this position
- Cerner EMR — experience required
- Experience with voiding trials and/or urogynecological surgeries is a key consideration for this role
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- RTO of 5 days or fewer may be auto-approved
- Active IN or Compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS certification (AHA or RQI accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Demonstrated experience with bariatric surgery, thyroidectomy, bowel obstruction, and continuous bladder irrigation (CBI)
- Graduation from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program required
- Previous permanent or PRN employment with IU Health requires a 12-month gap before being eligible as a traveler
- Indiana-licensed RNs are not eligible for Med/Surg positions at this facility
