Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position specializing in surgical subspecialties including urology, gynecology, and bariatric surgery, with a minimum of 2 years of experience required.

• 31-bed Med/Surg unit (5C) with a concentration in general surgery, urology, gynecology, and bariatric surgery
• Patient population includes bariatric surgery, thyroidectomy, bowel obstruction, and continuous bladder irrigation (CBI) cases
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
• Floating required within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
• Charting via Cerner (experience required)
• Local candidates are not accepted for this position
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Up to 5 days of RTO may be approved for the assignment
• Indiana RNs are not eligible for Med/Surg positions at this facility; only those holding a Compact license from another state are eligible
• Former permanent or PRN employees of this health system must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler

• Active IN or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification (AHA or RQI accepted)
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
• Hands-on experience with bariatric surgery, thyroidectomy, bowel obstruction, and CBI required
• Experience with voiding trials and/or urogyn surgeries is highly relevant to this role
• Graduation from a nursing program accredited by ACEN or CCNE required
