Registered Nurse - Pre-Admission Testing

Overview

You will be the first point of contact for patients prior to surgery or endoscopy at North Hospital. This role focuses on proactive pre‑procedure phone calls, educating adult and pediatric patients and guardians on what to expect on surgery day, reviewing anesthesia‑driven medication holds, and identifying potential clinical concerns early. You will collaborate closely with anesthesiologists and surgeons to ensure patients are fully prepared and risks are addressed before they arrive.

• Make proactive pre‑procedure phone calls to patients and guardians.
• Educate patients about surgery day expectations.
• Review anesthesia‑driven medication holds.
• Identify potential clinical concerns early and communicate with the medical team.
• Collaborate closely with anesthesiologists and surgeons to ensure patients are prepared.

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ASN) required;
  Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or Nurse Licensure Compact RN license.
• Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program; exceptions may be considered for candidates with more than two years of acute care experience per CNO review.
• Active Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association.
• Additional Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty.
