Registered Nurse - Outpatient - Triage - General Surgery and Bariatrics

Overview

IU Health North Hospital's General Surgery and Bariatric Surgery Clinic is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to triage pre‑operative and post‑operative patient calls, provide clinical guidance and support, and coordinate care with various hospital departments to ensure patients receive timely specialty treatments and services. The role is located within the hospital, with convenient access to collaborating departments, an on‑site pharmacy, and cafeteria.

Schedule:

Monday – Friday, 8:15 am – 4:45 pm. No weekends. No holidays. Following orientation, the role offers a hybrid work schedule. Experience with bariatric or surgical patients is a plus.

• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
• Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN);
  Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
• Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
• Two years experience in an ambulatory setting preferred.
• Knowledge of procedures for performing the functions appropriate to the specific clinical area and familiarity with designated pieces of equipment and supplies.
• Requires ability to coordinate a number of functions for a group of patients in an effective timely manner.
• Requires awareness and understanding of legal implications of patient care activities and performance as a Registered Nurse.
• Requires ability to assess patients without face‑to‑face interaction.
