OurPACU offers ahighly specialized,fast-pacedenvironmentwhere expert nurses care foradult and pediatric patients in the immediate post-anesthesia phase. Our 32-bay unit supports aweekday-only surgical schedule with strong interdisciplinary collaboration and exceptional support from anesthesiologists and surgeons. Nurses typically care for patients at a 1:1 ratio for pediatrics and 1:2 for adults, allowing for focused,high-quality recovery care with minimal prolonged patient interaction.

• 10-10:30mid shift,self-scheduling,mid-shifthours;on-call coverage

• Critical thinking at an ICU level of care
• Management of chest tubes, ART lines, new tracheostomy
• Airway management for adults, pediatrics, and tracheostomy patients
• Interdisciplinary collaboration with OR nurses, advanced practitioners, surgeons, and anesthesiologists

• Active and engaged professional governance council
• Regular retention activities including peer milestone celebrations, unit activities, and scheduled outings outside of work
• A highly diverse team of nurses with an array of clinical backgrounds – from PICU, peds ED, adult ED, ICU, anesthesia nursing

• Requires Associates of Nursing (ASN);
  Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Education:
  
  The Registered Nurse (RN) must have graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
• Exceptions:
  Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if theypossessmore than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
• Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
• Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Other Advanced Life Support certifications may berequiredper unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
