Gallery Associate (Independent Contractor)

Jennifer Perlmutter Gallery is seeking a personable, motivated Gallery Associate (Independent Contractor) to join our team 2–3 days per week. This is a unique opportunity to work in a vibrant, contemporary gallery setting in the heart of Carmel-by-the-Sea.

We’re looking for someone who appreciates art, enjoys connecting with people, and is comfortable engaging in sales in a relaxed, welcoming environment.

• Welcome and engage with gallery visitors in a warm, professional manner
• Share knowledge about artists and artwork (training provided)
• Assist with art sales and transaction processing
• Help maintain the presentation and organization of the gallery
• Support a positive, elevated guest experience

• Interest in art and/or art history
• Experience in sales, retail, hospitality, or customer service preferred
• Confident communicator with a friendly, approachable style
• Self-starter with a mature, reliable work ethic
• Comfortable working independently

• Starting at $20/hour
• 5% commission on sales after 3 months
