Responsibilities- Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, answer questions promptly and courteously, assist with video gaming needs, inform guests about promotions and trade-in programs, recommend additional items, apply selling behaviors during each transaction, and thank guests for choosing Game Stop.
- Support the overall shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, and nurture guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
- Process guest purchases and returns accurately via the POS system, ensuring top-notch guest service.
- Address guest comments or questions in person or on the phone, ensuring every guest receives top-notch service.
- Promote Game Stop’s guest benefits, such as title reservations and the Pro Rewards loyalty program.
- Keep store areas clean, organized, and merchandised according to guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in proper working order.
- Complete Omni-Channel orders daily.
- Safeguard assets through inventory control and loss prevention practices, including scam awareness and safe banking deposits as required.
- Conduct store inventory counts, stock/restock merchandise, and ensure products are represented and organized on the selling floor.
- Support store management in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative duties.
- Balance daily transactions in the POS system; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposits according to guidelines.
- Check shipments for discrepancies and report as needed; process defectives/recalls and stock pulls with proper labeling.
- Supervise and delegate tasks in the absence of management; follow all store policies and procedures.
- Follow opening and closing procedures and provide timely feedback on associate performance.
- Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 1 year of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
- Video game knowledge preferred.
- Must be able to work alone, stand, and move throughout the store unassisted for up to 10 hours per day.
- Exceptional guest service skills; genuine and friendly assistance to every guest.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills in English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet performance expectations.
- Operate the POS system and complete required paperwork; basic math and alphabetizing skills.
- Self-motivated, team-oriented, with problem-solving abilities and good judgment.
- Flexible schedule, including extended hours, weekends, and some holidays; minimum 3 days/week availability.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and perform tasks across the store; stand/walk for extended periods.
Benefits:
Full-time store positions are eligible for incentive programs, 401(k), paid time off, dental, vision, and health insurance. Additional bonuses and incentives may apply.
Compensation: $8.50 - $11.25 per hour
