In this role, you'll help protect public health and the environment through chemical, biological, and physical analysis of wastewater and biosolids while supporting critical plant operations and laboratory quality standards.

What You'll Do
* Perform laboratory analysis of wastewater and biosolids samples for parameters such as pH, TSS, CBOD, ammonia, phosphorus, and
E. coli
* Collect, preserve, document, and maintain chain of custody for samples
* Conduct chemical, bacteriological, and physical testing in accordance with regulatory and operational standards
* Maintain laboratory quality assurance and quality control programs
* Prepare standard and reagent solutions for analytical testing
* Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and instrumentation
* Record, calculate, interpret, and report analytical data accurately
* Maintain laboratory inventory, supplies, and reporting systems
* Support laboratory cleanliness, safety, and equipment maintenance
* Assist with departmental communication and customer inquiries as needed
* Participate in 24-hour call-out response when required
What You'll Bring
* Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Environmental Science, or a related field
OR
* Three (3) to five (5) years of wastewater laboratory analysis experience
OR
* An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Additionally, candidates should have:
* Knowledge of laboratory testing methods and wastewater treatment principles
* Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
* Ability to multitask while following standard operating procedures
* Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation and analytical equipment
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Valid Indiana Driver's License
* Ability to obtain and maintain required certifications
Working Conditions
This position involves moderate physical activity and may include exposure to odors, wet environments, chemicals, fumes, and biological materials associated with wastewater treatment operations.
