Position Summary
Located in Carol Stream, IL the accountant role is responsible for supporting the organization’s financial integrity through the preparation and maintenance of accurate financial records. This role will create and maintain monthly journal entries and account reconciliations to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. The accountant will analyze financial information and maintain records of assets, liabilities, and other financial activities within the organization.
The position acts as a business partner for the ITW Graphics IDS accounting team as well as external stakeholders including banks, customers and vendors. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication are required.
- Manage the G/L system, including account maintenance, month/quarter end procedures, and account reconciliation.
- Perform bank reconciliation and validate AR and AP reconciliations.
- Assist in building inventory reports (WIP, raw, finished goods), managing metrics such as AR%, DSO, MHO, and SLOB.
- Maintain and record site purchase and travel cards; approve final payment to banks; export card data to create monthly expense journal entries.
- Record capital spend, maintain fixed assets, write up financials for capital requests, add and dispose of fixed assets, run and record monthly depreciation, and manage vehicle fleet replacements.
- Assist in processing AP invoices and payments to banks, cash application, posting customer invoices and collections.
- Assist with yearly report requirements (unclaimed property, AP spend, tax kit) and audit engagements.
- Engage in continuous improvement projects, apply 80/20 and PLS principles, and utilize ITW toolbox.
- Maintain internal control procedures in accordance with ITW Financial Policy and US GAAP.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration with an emphasis in accounting.
- Minimum 1 year of accounting experience; audit experience is a plus.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent data entry, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines.
- Strong multi‑tasking, prioritization, and diversification skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems.
- Proficiency with MS Office, specifically Excel.
- Knowledge of US GAAP reporting requirements.
- Frequent talking, hearing, sitting, typing, occasional twisting/turning, and reaching above shoulder and outward.
- Standing, walking, bending, and grasping with hands; demanding vision abilities such as concentrated, close, far, depth perception, color vision, and focus.
