We are a 45 year-old family business that provides construction services to both public and private sectors. Our main focus is civils - underground utility, infrastructure, and site development. We bring in repeat business while still expanding out clientele around the country. Starting in the Midwest, we have expanded quite a bit over the years. Orlando has been a big focus for us over the last several years and the work is not slowing down!

We need someone to come on board as a Project Manager looking over underground utility projects in the Chicagoland area.

Job Details

We are seeking a Project Manager to join our team who will specializing in underground utilities and water main programs. This individual would do a combination of in office work, field visits, and has the flexibility to work remotely. This includes sewer, water, and other underground infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in managing large-scale, high-budget projects from initial conception through to completion.

Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing and managing all aspects of underground utility projects, including sewer, water, and other infrastructure projects.
  • Developing and executing project plans, including budgeting, scheduling, and risk management strategies.
  • Leading a team of project professionals and contractors, ensuring all tasks are completed on time and within budget.
  • Coordinating with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Managing project resources, including labor, materials, and equipment.
  • Ensuring all project activities comply with company and industry safety standards.
  • Conducting site inspections and audits to ensure quality control and adherence to project specifications.
  • Resolving any issues or challenges that may arise during the project lifecycle.
  • Preparing and presenting project status reports to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Continually seeking opportunities to improve project management processes and techniques.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in the construction industry, with a focus on underground utilities or water main installation projects.
  • A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale, complex underground utility projects.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, methods, and safety regulations.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • A professional certification in project management (PMP) is preferred.
