Director of Safety (Telecom​/Construction

Pay Range

$135,000 - $145,000 salary plus annual bonus. Factors such as geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.

Must be local to the Chicagoland area and work onsite in Carol Stream, IL Monday‑Friday.

• Work with the Field Safety Inspector on developing and implementing safety programs and procedures and documenting processes with the organization. Responsible for the quality control audits of all installation and repair work ensuring safety compliance as outlined by company and OSHA directives.
• Review potential subcontractors' safety policies, procedures, and safety performance.
• Ensure the safety plan is understood and implemented by all project managers and subcontractors.
• Conduct accident investigations and incident reports as needed.
• Develop and conduct employee safety and health training programs.
• Conduct detailed site safety and health inspections.
• Manage project security contracts, programs, and policies.
• Write detailed injury/illness reports.
• Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety.
• Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law.
• Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention.
• Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations.

• Ideally 5+ years of prior experience as a safety director, manager, or FSI in cell‑site deployments.
• A minimum of 5 years' experience in the telecom and/or construction industry (preferred).
• Prior experience as a certified tower climber or overseeing certified tower climbers is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA federal regulations, state and local safety regulations, policies and procedures – OSHA #500 / #501 highly preferred.
• Must be fully proficient in the MS Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines.
• Ability to produce reports and develop relevant policies.
• Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment.
• Excellent organizational and motivational skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and observational ability.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel outside of Illinois when necessary.
