Role Overview: Seeking a proactive Customer Service & Order Management Specialist to manage end‑to‑end orders and liaise between customers, sales, and production. You will balance office tasks with on‑floor coordination to ensure accurate, timely delivery.
- Location:
100% on‑site / Carol Stream, IL 60188 - Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8 am – 4:30 pm - Pay rate: $26 per hour
- Contract:
W2 under staffing supplier; 6‑month duration (possible extension)
Skills & Qualifications
- Education:
HS diploma/GED or higher. - Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of professional customer service experience in manufacturing. - Software:
Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Teams; must be comfortable using ERP systems (SAP and Ariba). - Technical Aptitude:
Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of industrial equipment/processes. - Communication:
Excellent written communication skills (majority of role is email‑based) and a professional phone demeanor. - Physical Ability:
Ability to walk and spend time on the production floor as needed to coordinate orders.
- Order Management:
Handle high‑volume order entry, quoting, and ensuring pricing accuracy on all purchase orders. - Production Liaison:
Work directly with the production team to provide delivery updates and expedite emergency orders. - Communication:
Act as the primary liaison between Sales, Purchasing, and the Customer. - Logistics Tracking:
Provide shipment tracking information and proactively manage delivery timelines. - Problem Solving:
Enter and manage customer complaints through the internal system to ensure quick resolution. - Multi‑Channel Support:
Manage communications via email (75%), phone (15%), and chat (10%), handling both inbound and outbound inquiries.
This is a 100% onsite position in a fast‑paced environment. You will enjoy a fixed, stable schedule and the opportunity to work closely with various departments, from the front office to the manufacturing floor.
